Department of Bioethics Events

The Department of Bioethics runs highly successful educational programs that include an Undergraduate Minor in Bioethics and Medical Humanities,  Master of Arts in Bioethics and Medical Humanities, PhD in Bioethics, and Study Abroad courses open to all undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students.

Our Master of Arts in Bioethics and Medical Humanities program covers a range of interdisciplinary areas within medicine, humanities and research. This hands-on, in-person course of study offers opportunities for clinical ethics rotations, dynamic concentrations and electives tailored to your interests.

Our PhD in Bioethics program was the nation’s first PhD in Bioethics, established in 2004. All students in the program receive interdisciplinary training to conceptualize, design, and conduct both normative ethical analysis and empirical research on bioethical issues. Due to budget constraints, the Fall 2026 admissions cycle is currently on hold and we are not accepting applications at this time. However, you can still learn more about the program and our community by reviewing previous webinars available on our website.
